About us

               Uttar Pradesh Police Sports Control Board was established in the year 1926 as United Provinces Police Sports Board with its headquarters at Nainital. This board was renamed as United Provinces Police Central Board in the year 1933 and headquarter was shifted from Nainital to Police Training School Moradabad.

              Principal, PTC Moradabad was appointed as Secretary in this board. Headquarter of United Provinces Police Central Board was shifted to 11th BN PAC Sitapur in the year 1955 and Commandant was made its Secretary.

              Again, in 1958, name of United Provinces Police Central Board was renamed as Uttar Pradesh Police Sports Control Board. In 1982, DIG PTS III, Sitapur was made its Secretary. The office of Uttar Pradesh Police Sports Control Board came under DIG PAC, Northern Sector, Lucknow / DIG, PAC Sector Lucknow in the year 1983. Again in the year 2002, Office of Uttar Pradesh Police Sports Control Board got transferred from PAC Lucknow Sector to IG, PAC, Central Zone Lucknow and IG PAC Central Zone Lucknow was made its secretary.

              DGP UP is ex-officio Chairman, ADG PAC is ex-officio Vice Chairman and IG PAC Central Zone is ex-officio Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Police Sports Control Board. In the General Assembly Meeting of 1997, it was decided to constitute an executive committee of 07 members for the upliftment and betterment of sports and sportspersons. Apart from 07 members, 03 other members are nominated/selected for one year.

              According to the policy of Uttar Pradesh Government to promote sports and internationally renowned sportspersons, ex-cadre post of Regional Sports Officer (Police) was created.

  • Preparation of annual sports calendar
  • Organization of competitions according to the annual sports calendar
  • Selection of players for Uttar Pradesh Police teams on the basis of performance in competitions.
  • Providing training by skilled trainers by setting up their training camps at appropriate places with adequate training facilities.
  • Providing necessary sports equipment for training, providing public goods and providing special diet.
  • Sending players to participate in national and international level competitions of All India
  • Organizing All India Police Competitions allotted by All India Police Sports Control Board New Delhi.
  • Promotion of sports activities of Uttar Pradesh Police.
  • Correspondence related to upliftment of sports and players.
  • Facilitate out of turn promotion to the players who fulfill the eligibility as per rules,
  • Identifying young, talented, outstanding sports persons in all sports disciplines of Uttar Pradesh Police and ensuring their training in the team.
  • Selecting a suitable place for the UP Police teams to be assembled for training and ensuring proper accommodation, diet and logistics of the teams.
  • Appointing skilled trainers/coaches in UP Police teams
  • To select good sports persons by continuously testing the skill, performance and medals won.
  • To develop team spirit, integrity, pride, healthy competition, excellence and discipline among the sports persons.
  • To ensure continuous innovative efforts to improve sports culture, sportsmanship and infrastructure in the Uttar Pradesh Police.
  • Plan training programs, modules, lectures to sensitize about the significance of mental/physical fitness, diet, nutrition and the significance of improving and excelling in state, national and international competitions.
